Paralegal

Joan Tyson is a Paralegal with Bryson Harris Suciu DeMay.

Based in Madisonville, Kentucky, and born in Seoul, South Korea, Joan has been a paralegal since 1991. She works on class actions and mass arbitration matters, bringing a thoughtful, people-first approach to each assignment. Known for her organizational capacity, Joan is consistently fact-finding to assist attorneys in meeting client needs.

Her long tenure has given her a broad, practical understanding of litigation and what legal teams and clients need day-to-day. Throughout her career, she has been involved with practice areas including workers’ compensation, personal injury, medical malpractice, probates and estates, collections, general practice, black lung, class actions, criminal and family law matters, and mass arbitrations.

Joan genuinely loves where she works, not only because she’s close to home, but because she feels supported, challenged, and encouraged by her colleagues. Being part of a team that values learning and growth keeps her energized and proud of the profession.

Away from work, Joan is a devoted fan of lake life – boating, sunshine and quiet mornings by the water. She loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, and interior decorating. She is a huge Maltese fan that keeps her active at home. She has a long standing track record of perfect attendance from elementary school throughout college.
