Andrew Lemmon

Senior Counsel

Andrew Lemmon is Senior Counsel with Bryson Harris Suciu DeMay.

Andrew is a New Orleans-born trial attorney who has practiced in Louisiana, Washington, and many federal courts for nearly 40 years. He has worked in the fields of environmental law, toxic and mass torts, business, succession, and other complex litigation.

His experience includes numerous multi-districts, class actions, shareholder and securities cases, and other litigation and legislative matters. He was chair of the discovery committee in Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litigation and Taxotere pharma litigation and is in leadership in several medical and health insurance cases. Andrew is trained as a Domestic Mediator.

Legal History

For over 10 years, Andrew represented various local governments in connection with sales and use tax laws and legislation, specifically addressing the constitutional authority and statutory interpretations regarding the assessment and collection of those taxes. He also worked with local governments in connection with land use and zoning issues as they affect development and enforcement, whether in a legislative, administrative, or a litigation environment.

Andrew worked as an intern for the United States Department of Justice in the Environmental Enforcement Section. He also represented several U.S. cities in environmental and tax issues, and several municipal associations in connection with health insurance payments and self-funded workers compensation plans.

Andrew founded Lemmon Law Firm, LLC in 1996 to offer services as a civil mediator and qualified domestic mediator. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and works with Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions.

Furthering the Legal Profession

In 2025, he and his wife, Joan, launched the Lemmon Environmental Law Fellows Program through Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. The program provides qualified applicants with student internship opportunities in the College of Law’s Center on Environment, Land and Law (CELL) which is dedicated to educational research and advocacy designed to harness the power of law and public policy to create a healthy environment and a just society.

In addition, Andrew is teaching mediation at Tulane Law School.

Personal Notes

Andrew is the son of late Justice Harry Lemmon and Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon. He is the oldest of six children. He is a proud father of Stuart and proud stepfather of Hillary and Everett. His wife, Joan, is a graduate of the John Folse Culinary Institute. Andrew has combined his lifelong passion for social justice, the outdoors and the environment into his business and hobbies.
