Tim Longest Reappointed to North Carolina Bar Association Appellate Rules Committee

Tim Longest, a senior associate with Bryson Harris Suciu DeMay, has been reappointed to the Appellate Rules Committee with the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA).

The NCBA is a voluntary membership organization of lawyers, judges, paralegals and law students dedicated to serving the public and the legal profession. The Appellate Rules Committee examines the rules of appellate procedure and recommends any revisions to the Board of Governors for ultimate referral and consideration by the North Carolina Supreme Court. The Committee is concerned with improving the quality of appellate practice. Members meet regularly to discuss appellate problems and possible solutions. Among other work, the committee has drafted proposed amendments to the North Carolina Rules of Appellate Procedure for consideration by the Supreme Court.

Longest’s practice focuses on class actions, appellate advocacy, and complex civil litigation, including in consumer protection and antitrust matters in state and federal courts. Before entering private practice, Longest clerked on both the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He received his J.D. and B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
